At the beginning of my wedding photography career, a question I asked myself about was this:
Who do I photograph a wedding for? The participants?
After having explored thoroughly with myself the reasons that made me choose to become a wedding photographer, I thought that one of the answers could be this:
Not really or at least, not entirely. I record these events for those that weren’t there or those yet to come, so for me Wedding Photography is to leave something tangible for the couple but also for those the couple love.
Then my suggestion to you is: you can have many great photographs of you as a couple, of your guests and friends, but do not forget to have also your family photographs taken at the wedding. It doesn’t matter if you like wedding reportage photographs or posed wedding photographs, the crucial thing is to take them and to do it as you should, hire a professional photographer.
What kind of person will you have by your side on your wedding day?
If we spend such an important day together, it’s only fair that you know the kind of person I am.
I’m discreet, but present.
I don’t like to steal the spotlight. I move quietly, but I’m always nearby when needed—especially during the most delicate moments.
I speak little, I observe a lot.
I prefer listening to you, understanding who you are, how you move, how you look at each other. This helps me tell your story in a more genuine way.
I won’t ask you to be different from who you are.
If you hate posing, I won’t make you pose. If you’re shy, I’ll give you your space. If you’re full of energy, I’ll follow that energy.
I’m empathetic, not neutral.
I often get emotional behind the camera. I believe that a photographer, in order to truly tell the story of a wedding, has to let themselves be touched—at least a little—by what they see.
Mi chiamo Giorgio Baruffi e sono un fotografo di matrimonio con base a Brescia. Prima ancora che fotografo, però, sono una persona curiosa, attenta e affascinata dalle storie degli altri. Nei matrimoni cerco soprattutto questo: conoscere voi, capire come siete fatti, entrare in punta di piedi nella vostra giornata e raccontarla nel modo più onesto e autentico possibile. In questa pagina non vi parlerò di pacchetti o di preventivi, ma di chi sono io e di cosa potete aspettarvi da me come persona, prima ancora che come professionista.
Che tipo di persona avrai accanto il giorno del matrimonio?
Se passiamo insieme una giornata così importante, è giusto che sappiate che tipo di persona sono.
- Sono discreto, ma presente.
Non mi piace rubare la scena. Mi muovo in silenzio, ma sono sempre vicino quando serve, soprattutto nei momenti più delicati. - Parlo poco, osservo molto.
Preferisco ascoltarvi, capire chi siete, come vi muovete, come vi guardate. Questo mi aiuta a raccontarvi in modo più vero. - Non vi chiederò di essere diversi da come siete.
Se odiate le pose, non vi farò fare pose. Se siete timidi, vi lascerò i vostri spazi. Se siete esplosivi, seguirò la vostra energia. - Sono empatico, non neutrale.
Mi emoziono spesso dietro la macchina fotografica. Credo che un fotografo, per raccontare bene un matrimonio, debba farsi toccare almeno un po’ da quello che vede.
