Biografia
Founded on March 6, 1997, Ferrara Pro Art is a cultural association established with the aim of promoting culture and youth engagement in the city of Ferrara. Its activities began with the publication of the monthly magazine “PALCO”, marking the first step in a journey dedicated to the promotion of art and culture in the local area.
In 1998, Paolo Orsatti became president of the association, and in 2000 Ferrara Pro Art moved to Via Garibaldi 47, starting a collaboration with Arci Nova and opening the Sekanina Art Gallery.
Over the years, the association has organized the Ferrara International Biennale, using the Estense Castle and other important historical locations to host exhibitions and give visibility to hundreds of artists, contributing to the growth of both the local and international art scene.
Since 2012, with its headquarters in Via Terranuova 41, Ferrara Pro Art continues to support emerging artists through Idearte Gallery and promotes numerous festivals and cultural events in the historic center of Ferrara, including:
- Giardini Estensi, a festival dedicated to biodiversity, now in its 20th edition
- Caffè Letterario Estense, active since 2018, a space for cultural meetings and book presentations
- FEntasy Festival, dedicated to the fantasy world (2020–2021)
- Gran Galà dei Vampiri, an annual event held at the Estense Castle
In recent years, the association has won several regional and municipal grants, confirming its commitment to cultural promotion, social inclusion, and the enhancement of local traditions.
Ferrara Pro Art is registered in the RUNTS as an APS (Social Promotion Association) and operates as an Arci cultural club, actively collaborating with public and private institutions.
Fondata il 6 marzo 1997, Ferrara Pro Art è un’associazione culturale nata con l’obiettivo di promuovere la cultura e l’aggregazione giovanile nella città di Ferrara. Le sue attività iniziano con la pubblicazione della rivista mensile “PALCO”, primo passo di un percorso dedicato alla diffusione artistica e culturale sul territorio.
Nel 1998 Paolo Orsatti diventa presidente dell’associazione e, nel 2000, Ferrara Pro Art si trasferisce in via Garibaldi 47, avviando la collaborazione con Arci Nova e inaugurando la Galleria d’arte Sekanina.
Nel corso degli anni, l’associazione ha organizzato la Biennale Internazionale di Ferrara, utilizzando il Castello Estense e altre importanti location storiche per ospitare esposizioni e dare visibilità a centinaia di artisti, contribuendo alla crescita del panorama artistico locale e internazionale.
Dal 2012, con sede in via Terranuova 41, Ferrara Pro Art continua a sostenere artisti emergenti attraverso Idearte Gallery e promuove numerosi eventi e festival nel centro storico della città, tra cui:
- Giardini Estensi, festival dedicato alla biodiversità e giunto alla sua 20ª edizione
- Caffè Letterario Estense, attivo dal 2018, spazio per incontri culturali e presentazioni di libri
- FEntasy Festival, dedicato al mondo fantasy (2020–2021)
- Gran Galà dei Vampiri, evento annuale ospitato al Castello Estense
Negli ultimi anni, l’associazione ha ottenuto importanti riconoscimenti vincendo bandi regionali e comunali, confermando il proprio impegno nella promozione culturale, nell’inclusione sociale e nella valorizzazione delle tradizioni del territorio.
Ferrara Pro Art è iscritta al RUNTS come APS e opera come Circolo Arci, collaborando attivamente con enti pubblici e privati.
