Biografia
Nicola Guidotti (January 29, 1998) began studying the piano at the age of twelve, initially as a self-taught musician and later under the guidance of Maestro Marcello Melis at the Civica School of Music in Iglesias. He then continued his studies at the “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” Conservatory of Music in Cagliari under Professor Gabriella Mereu, completing both the pre-academic course and the three-year academic program, graduating with honors (110/110 cum laude). He has continued, and continues to this day, his musical education by attending advanced courses offered by internationally renowned teachers: Enrico Pace, Bruno Canino, Lilya Ziberstein, Pascal Devoyon, Jacques Rouvier (International Music Academy of Cagliari, summer courses), Orazio Sciortino, Carlo Grante, and Filippo Gamba. He began his concert career at the age of 13, performing as a soloist and later in chamber music ensembles within the conservatory, receiving wide acclaim from both audiences and critics. He is especially appreciated for his temperament, excellent piano technique, and remarkable expressive and musical sensitivity. Many of the recitals he has given so far have taken place in his hometown. In March 2016, he performed as a soloist and in a chamber ensemble with internationally renowned bandoneonist and teacher Fabio Furia for the “Sonate di Primavera” series, a festival held in honor of the Holy Week of Iglesias at the “Teatro Electra” in Iglesias. Three years later, in June 2019, he performed as a soloist, along with the Conservatory orchestra, the Choral Fantasy by L.V. Beethoven for piano, choir, and orchestra, in honor of the 9th Edition of the Cagliari Conservatory Piano Festival “Homage to Nino Bonavolontà” at the attached auditorium. Later that same year, in July, he served as an official accompanist for the extraordinary masterclass held by Maestro Alessio Allegrini in honor of “La Settimana del Corno,” which took place at the Conservatory of Cagliari’s auditorium. In November, he performed both as a soloist and in a chamber duo with horn player Edoardo Perniciano for a recital in preparation for the tenth edition of the “Domenica in Concerto” series organized by the “Ente Concerti Alba Pani Passino” in Oristano, held at the Diocesan Museum Arborense (OR). The repertoire he typically performs is quite varied, with particular attention to French composers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, whose works he has studied, including (for example) Book I of Les Études pour piano and the Piano Concerto in G major. He also engages with composers like Beethoven and Haydn, tackled and “understood” through the study of Beethoven’s Sonata op.2 no.3 and Sonata op.26 no.12, as well as Haydn’s Hob XVI:20 no.33. From February to June 2021, he participated in an Erasmus mobility program at the Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademija (Lithuania) under the guidance of Maestro Daumantas Kirilauskas. He is currently completing an Erasmus traineeship at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada (Spain) as an accompanist for singers and chamber music groups. Since the 2021/2022 academic year, he has been attending the final year of the two-year academic piano program under the guidance of Maestro Romeo Scaccia. Former student of MUSEEC Academy in Lecce, he is currently focused on furthering his studies in music production and composition.
